It’s time for Muse on Monday again. This week’s prompt is a first line of a story.

The world ended on a Friday, which was a surprise.

Try this exercise:

1. Think of a sentence to go with this first line. It doesn’t have to the one after it, just one that might be connected somehow to a story. If it’s a good sentence, write it down.
2. Think of another sentence. Write that down too.
3. Now we have a triangle of sentences. Think of the area these three sentences cover. Try to picture the story that might live in that space.
