It’s pretty common to buy things online these days, so if you’re like me, you get packages from time to time (every day? Hey, I’m not judging). Every so often, one of your packages might be delivered to the wrong house. Then there are the situations where you get a package you didn’t order. If it was supposed to be sent to a neighbor, that’s easy to fix. But what if it wasn’t?
Story Prompt: July 6, 2026
Write a story about getting a package you didn’t order
This could be a what story, where the conflict is around what is in the package. Maybe it’s a why or who story where we don’t know who sent you an alien skeleton or blood diamonds or the unpublished draft of Harry Potter and the Unnecessary Cash Grab. Or why they sent it. That’s up to you.
If you write a story for this prompt, send me a link to your story on your own site, either in the comments or at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com. You can also submit your story here for a chance to have it published on the site next week.

This hit a homer once receiving Alpo from Chewies, the online Tifffany of dog and cat food when I don’t have a dog. The best part was when the night doorman I never see asked me, when did I get one? LOL
