Story Prompt: June 15, 2026
Write a story where the character is trapped in a closet with a stranger
For this prompt, the main question to answer as a writer is ‘why’: why are they in the closet in the first place, since the rest of the story will follow from that. The tone can be anything from romantic to creepy to comedic or anything else. Because of the close quarters, the size of the closet will also make a big difference to have tense a situation is.

The Green-Walled Treehouse 
One of my favorite films is How To Steal A Million with Audrey Hepburn and Peter O’Toole when they’re hiding in a closet at a museum waiting for it to close so they can conclude their mischief. It was a movie my mother took me to at Radio City Music Hall when I was 10. My very first Audrey sighting.
