Beyond Reality
“So, tell us about your . . . model,” Mrs. Watson said.
The class’s attention was riveted on Kurt’s solar system model. It had 14 planets. The tenth one was a bagel.
“First, the sun is a giant lightning bug,” Kurt said, “so it blinks on and off. The first planet—Klaxon—is all metal. The second is rubber. Then—”
“You know the assignment was to make the actual solar system, right?”
“Yeah. But real world is boring, so I made my own reality.”
“You don’t want to go into politics, do you?”
“No, I want to be a writer.”
“Good. Continue.”

Best line and visual…The tenth one was a bagel. LOL i just love that. 🙂

Dear David,
I want to know more about the planet bagel. 😉 Must be home of lox and cream cheese. Clever story. The kid should get an A just for imagination.
Shalom,

I take offense that the qualities of a good fiction writer can also be the qualifications for politics. 😉
