The First Sundeath
It was the first day.
Ever.
While exploring this new world, the woman noticed the sun was lower.
“It’s falling,” she said.
“It’s bleeding,” the man said. “See, its blood is spreading along the horizon.”
“This must be the end of the world.”
“It was a good life.”
The sun was gone. Darkness descended. They lay down, feeling their bodies losing energy. Clearly, they were dying.

The man awoke first. “Look!” he cried. “The sun is reborn. It’s on the other side again.”
“I feel refreshed as well. We must have been reborn, too. How many times will that happen?”

I was just imagining what it would be like if someone had never seen a sunset before.
