Sometimes we might do something impulsive, like do a lot of baking late at night. Maybe it’s because we’re stressed or to take our mind off something worrying. Maybe guests are coming suddenly. There could be a lot of reasons.

Write a story about baking late at night.
You could just write about someone doing baking at night, but to make it an engaging story, make sure that there is some clear point of conflict, either a problem that the character(s) are trying to solve or avoid. To mix things up even more, switch up the characters, setting or tone from what you might expect.

The Green-Walled Treehouse 
At my old apartment I always baked…banana bread was my specialty. It reminded me of my Polish grandmother who always made it. You have me thinking why I baked and it was usually at odd hours. I think the smell of warm bread was just plain comforting.
