The Chevy of Dorene Gray

Sales of the 1952 Chevy Deluxe skyrocketed after Dorene bought one. No advertisement could rival that gal roaring around the county, caroming off inanimate objects like a pinball, without getting even a dent or scratch.

It took Jimmy Reynolds driving his across the football field and taking out the uprights to realize no car was indestructible.

Except apparently Dorene’s.

It wasn’t until she moved away that we found the other car behind her garage. That thing’s odometer read 15 miles, but it was full of more dings and dents than a moon rock.

Now, what do you make of that?

Love the title, David. Sorry they saw what the trick was. It was so much cooler when they believed in magic.

Oh this is so clever. I didn’t get it from the title right away, but the tale made it click in my mind. I love it. That poor little mirror car though…
