Muse on Monday – January 1, 2024

Happy New Year everyone! It is a brand-new year and usually that is a time for new beginnings and for thinking about things in a new way.

Here at the Green-Walled Treehouse, our mission has always been to create a place where young writers from every part of the world can express their unique perspectives and learn from others their age. That’s literally it, in fact.

I will confess that this goal has been slow in being realized for various reasons, despite our best efforts. My dream is to be able to publish stories from students from all over the world and this year that will be the main goal of the site: to reach out to more and more students and developing writers from all over.

If you are a writer, or a reader, or just a casual browser, I’d love to hear your feedback. Is there something you’d like to see offered on the website? Something we could be doing differently? You can email us at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com or leave a comment on a post. We can’t do everything but I always like to be creative and think in new directions.

Thank you for reading and we look forward to this new year together!

And now, on to the prompt for this week:

Story Prompt: January 1, 2024

Write a story with two beginnings

What might this mean? Two characters who start the story in different ways? A story that starts twice? One that ends with a new beginning? It’s up to you. Use your imagination.

I will post my story for this prompt next week.

You can send me a link to your story if you’ve posted it somewhere or send it to me at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com. You can also submit your story here for a chance to have it published on the site next week.

Good luck and happy writing! Come back next Monday for another story prompt.

  1. I loved how you prefaced this. Such a humble declaration. I am already a big fan of The Greenwalled Treehouse, as you know.

The artwork, the way it’s so beautifully framed. How you want to help young writers is very moving. We were young writers once. You’re still pretty young David, and I can say, I wish I had a Greenwalled Tower in my life when I was first approaching the page with such passion and wonder.

    HAPPY NEW YEAR MUSE!!!

Your faithful Friend and fellow Scribe. 🙂

    1. Thank you, my friend. I always appreciate you reading my posts and commenting. Yes, I do like this picture too. Reminds me of a pine tree covered in snow.

      1. I grew up with pine trees covered in snow. We had two mighty ones at the entrance to our backyard. They were so majestic. Thank you for the memory. 🙂
