Muse on Monday – July 10, 2023

I hope your July is going well and you are happy and healthy. For the summer, the writing prompts for Muse on Monday will be a combination of a theme and a genre. Last week we had rivalry with a genre of adventure. You can read my story based on that tomorrow. Here is this week’s prompt.

Story Prompt: July 10, 2023

Theme: Exploration

Genre: Mystery

We usually think of exploration as going somewhere far away, like sailing to the south seas or going to Mars, but it just means pushing into the unknown. This could be in a city, in a relationship or family, or even inside the character’s mind. There is a lot of leeway.

As always, if you’d like to share yours, you can leave a comment or send me an email at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com. You can also submit it at the link here.

  1. I wish I could go back in time, say in the late 1800s where there were no phones or computers. The only way to communicate would be in longhand… letters posted. In my mind, life was slower then.

How would I be if nothing was remotely immediate after living in the world of email, jet planes and microwave popcorn. Something to ponder, for sure. 🙂

    1. Yeah, I wonder if everything would seem impossibly slow or if it would be a relief. It would definitely be different not to be able to look up anything immediately. Would teach us patience, probably.

      1. Whenever I read Jane Austen, the pace is so apparent. All they do is read, play the pianoforte, embroider and attend assemblies, as they call parties. Life is lived at a crawl.
