Welcome to July, everyone. For the next two months, we’ll be trying something different for the weekly Muse on Monday prompt. We’ll be pairing a theme with a genre and your task will be to come up with a story that combines those. The other elements, such as the tone, length, setting, etc. are all up to you. Here is the first one.

The Green-Walled Treehouse 
My first thought at the word, rivalry backlit by adventure was seeing Teddy Roosevelt on his horse, Little Texas, outrunning all his Rough Riders.
That would be great historical fiction; weaving in their dialogue as they were about to charge up San Juan Hill. He was the hero, but most people don’t realize how many of those brave men didn’t make it up that hill, felled before they reached the summit .
I really like the new summer theme. 🙂
