Muse on Monday – May 23, 2022

I’ve been away from the site for a couple weeks since I’ve been down with COVID. It might have been a time to do some writing, but unfortunately, it was not the asymptomatic variety. But I’m back now and almost as good as ever.

This week’s prompt is the first line of a story:

In the heart of the city, the machine slept.

If you want to share your story, you can either email me at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com or submit it at the link here for a chance to have it posted with next week’s prompt.

Have a good week!

  1. Love the image of a machine sleeping, like my steam iron who ran out of steam needing to nap in-between cuffs and collars.

Another slam dunk graphic by the way. Those circular images that remind me of The Cyclone at Coney Island, how they twist and turn before doing a nosedive while you’re screaming your lungs out. Now that’s a machine that could use a rest.

    So glad you’re back. 🙂

  2. Came back to look at the graphic again. Looking at it now, I’m drawn to the murky, purplish sky, as if you added a plum brushstroke 🙂
