Isn’t it great to have someone with more experience who can teach you things? Fiction is full of examples of mentors who helped a character grow and develop. This is especially true when the main character is a newcomer to the world, or a noob. This is when one character explains the world to another player and at the same time, to the reader. (I will be posting about this on Friday).

Write a story that includes a mentor
Remember that a mentor does not have to be old and does not have to be good. The stereotype is an old man teaching a young person martial arts, but it could be an older brother getting his younger brother into selling drugs. There are thousands of ways to use this concept.

This might be my favorite graphic of all time. The one with the blue tint in his hair reminds me a little of you. As far as mentors go, it’s great to look up to someone especially if their knowledge moves you along.
