I’m leaving on a fairly extensive trip to Asia today, so that got me thinking about travel. When you take a long trip, no matter how much preparation you do, it always feels like you are missing something.

Of course, sometimes you have to leave unprepared. Refugees are in that situation, where you just take what you can. What you bring and what you don’t each presents its own challenges.

Story Prompt: February 24, 2025

Write a story about a trip where the characters are missing one important thing.

This could be money or a passport or clothes, etc. It doesn’t have to be a serious story; it could be absurd or anything in between. It’s totally up to you.

Have fun with it and explore different ideas. If you write something, let me know. You can send me a link to your story on your own site, either in the comments or at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com. You can also submit your story here for a chance to have it published on the site next week.

Stay warm and well hydrated. 🙂

  2. I remember losing my passport in London. I found it but it was pretty scary for a while. It’s so challenging to travel when you have all that’s required. so when I think of those refugees you mentioned my heart opens.

    Great prompt as always. 🙂
