
Tuesday Night at the Bliss & Blah
She sat down purposefully at the bar. The bartender glanced over.
“What’ll it be?”
“A shot of melancholy.”
He raised an eyebrow. “Straight? We’ve got a cocktail that mixes melancholy, nostalgia and wistfulness, with a dash of hope.”
“Straight. With a remorse chaser.”
“Geez, you’re really looking for a bad time tonight.”
“I hurt somebody. I want to feel bad.”
“I’m sure they did something to deserve it. Why don’t I add a few drops of righteous justification?”
“Straight, please.”
Fine, whatever. He was just a sentiment slinger, after all. It wasn’t his job to tell people how to feel.

Whew! Now that was clever! bravo!
