There is a type of movie called the buddy comedy. This is a movie with two main characters who have to work together. They are often very different since that produces conflict (and also, comedy). There are books like this as well.
Normally, these are two people, but in a fantasy story, this duo can be anything, from a person and an animal to two animals, to literally anything else. This week, I want you to try one with a child and a bear.
Story Prompt: December 16, 2024
Write a story about a child and a bear
The setting is up to you. Remember, there are no rules to this, so while the most common scenarios might be the bear living in human society (e.g. Paddington) or the boy living in the wild (e.g. The Jungle Book), anything else is possible too. They could live on a spaceship if you want.
Let me know if you write one. You can send me a link if you write a story for this prompt and post it on your own site or send it to me at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com. You can also submit your story here for a chance to have it published on the site next week.
Happy birthday to my mom today. Thank you for always reading to us as children, Mom.

Oh I love this David. A kid and a bear. The graphic is so sweet. I think many kids have animal pals they confide in. It might begin with a stuffed animal. Prince Charles had Teddy, and still does. And he puts him to bed every night the same way you would any other friend. And look how old he is.
Fantasy is real. 🙂

Yeah, stuffed animals can be magical. I had Bunny and Crackerberry, a stuffed dog, when I was little. They’re still at my parents’ house.
