Muse on Monday – June 17, 2024

Have you ever read books like Black Beauty, Charlotte’s Web or Where the Red Fern Grows? Books about pets and animal friends are very popular and very powerful because animals tend to be very pure and love unconditionally.

It’s much easier to have a relationship with an intelligent animal, of course, which is why there are more stories about friendships with dogs and horses than with goldfish and frogs. Unless it’s a fantasy story, and then you can do what you want.

Story Prompt: June 17, 2024

Write a story about a pet or an animal friend

If you write a story for this, you can send me a link to your story if you’ve posted it somewhere or send it to me at info@greenwalledtreehouse.com. You can also submit your story here for a chance to have it published on the site next week. I will post my story for this prompt next week as well.

Good luck and happy writing! Have a wonderful week.

  1. I LOVE this theme. The graphic pulls at my heartstrings. Makes me think of Maya, the Working Cat.

E.B. White’s Charlotte’s Webb is a favorite book of mine, along with his Stuart Little. I think it was such a promo for mice in general who we know get such a bad rap.

The Pete the Cat series, Where The Wild Things Are, and my all time favorite I keep by my bed, The Library Lion are so great, at any age.. It’s where many a reading muscle has been launched.

I just love this and my MUSE IS DOING THE HULA AS I WRITE.

    🙂

    1. Thank you so much. I’m glad it’s inspiring. I still love Maya, the Working Cat. I’ve read that book several times.

      1. I think the trick is, just to give all animals a human voice and prospective. I’m pretty convinced that thry have one, just in a language we aren’t privy too. 🙂
