A Valentine’s Day Miracle
I was hiking the glacier when I saw a woman lying below the surface of the ice, eyes closed.
I chipped the ice until her bluish-white skin was exposed. Suddenly she breathed in and opened her eyes.
“Thank you, sir,” she said as I helped her up. “I got lost in a snowstorm. Is it November still?”
“It’s February.”
“1905?”
“No…” This was a Valentine’s miracle. A woman from the past, for me.
“One favor,” she murmured.
“Anything.”
“Can you help me find my husband?” She pointed to the ice. “Oh, there he is.”
Happy Valentine’s Day to me.
Sigh.

A short-lived miracle. Love this. Quirky.

“Oh, there he is”. So nonchalant. Funny.

Of all the dumb luck. Then again, he did assume she’d be just for him… Original take, David. 🙂

Looks like cupid didn’t favour him this year. He did save her life, so what was the husband up to, or was the marriage frozen too.

I really had no idea where you were taking your story, but I’m so glad the favor she asked wasn’t for him to give her his life force! I do feel for the character if he’s on a search in arctic wilderness for love. Sometimes it feels that way 😦 Happy Belated Valentines Day, David ❤

Dear David,
So much for that miracle. 😉 Although a double miracle if her husband’s breathing, too. Love the way your mind works. Hope you’re having a good weekend.

Maybe next time he just doesn’t assume, “I saved her, now she’s mine’. And the miracle hopefully is a double miracle. Great story, very original, made me chuckle.

Yeah, hopefully. I have penchant for that kind of born loser story, at the expense of the character. 🙂
