Emotions are very important in storytelling, of course. However, it is not only the characters that can have emotions. The entire story can have an overall feeling, whether it is sad, joyous, tense, scary or anything else. This is called the mood.
You can show this in the descriptions of the setting (is the sky weeping or raging when it rains?) but also in other subtle ways. A good way to see this is to read a lot and find scenes and stories with a specific mood. What words do they use to create that feeling?
Story Prompt: August 8, 2022
Write a story with a specific, overarching emotion.
This can be any emotion, so be creative. Think of unique ways to portray this.
